“Like a fish in water” - in France

Project type

A multidisciplinary project: painting exhibition, creative dance, creative workshops, discussion on storytelling

Date

September 2024

Location

Martigues

Detailed description

This project is at the crossroads of the arts, blending writing, visual art and dance to offer an immersive, participatory experience.

The project will take place in Martigues in September 2024.

Workshops on offer

- Children's workshop (6 to 11 years): “Give color to your fish”.
Following the reading of the tale, children were able to give color and relief to their own fish and glue their creation into a collective frieze. The workshop was led by Nadine Fernandez and myself.

- Reading and discussion evening for adults
Led by psychotherapist Laura Schuller, this evening aimed to deepen reflection on the universal themes highlighted by this initiatory tale: self-knowledge, leaving one's comfort zone, suffering as a motor for transformation, letting go, distancing oneself and asserting one's singularity.

- Creative dance workshop: “Being oneself, together” led by Géraldine Colomba.
An original bodily exploration of the paintings in the tale, movement was a means of expression to better connect with oneself and others.

Through these proposals, “Comme un poisson dans l'eau” was an invitation for young and old alike to embark on an introspective and collective journey, encountering their own singularity in a world in perpetual motion.

This project revolves around “Le conte du poisson rouge qui se croyait sardine” (The tale of the goldfish who thought he was a sardine), a story I wrote based on the paintings I produced.
a multi-disciplinary artistic project: combining visual art (painting exhibition, hand-crafting workshop), reading/writing, discussions and exchanges around the tale and dance.
